Sunny Fun Cards with Sunburst Sayings
I'm so excited to be sharing some fun projects. All of my projects feature the Sunburst Sayings Bundle from the 2016 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog. I love this new Thinlet! Honestly, the Sunburst Sayings Bundle is very easy to use providing quick, easy options for any card or project you might create. I'm all about anything "SUNNY" and instantly fell in love with this bundle.
Project #1 – Sunburst Sayings Wow
This past weekend, I participated in a Shoebox Swap and this is the card that I brought. The Sunburst Thinlits die was used to cut out the Crushed Curry for the main portion of my card front. I stamped the "WOW" using Basic Black Archival Ink. Just below the "wow" I used the black washi tape from the It's My Party Designer Washi Tape and the Bohemian Designer Washi Tape. The white banner is stamped using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink using a sentiment from the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set. To make the banner, I pulled out my trusty "banner punch." I added the little Baker's Twine Combo Pack Mint Macaron Box as the final touch along with some Basic Rhinestones. My background is Bermuda Bay.
Super cute, fun and easy card!
There are so many options with the Sunburst Thinlits. You can cut then attach the sunburst and create templates for sponging, spritzing or mixed media.

Project #2 – Mixed Media Sunburst Sayings
Confession time… I'm TOTALLY in love with using Mixed Media on cards after I took a class this weekend on using Mixed Media such as a Gel Medium. This led me to create a template using the Sunburst Thinlits. On this card, I created my template then used Daffodil Delight Classic Ink mixed in with the Gel Medium. The Gel Medium was then spread across the template filling in the negative space then I pulled off the template – you have to do this FAST I discovered or it can dry then tear when you lift the template off. Once I was done with adding the Gel Medium I set it aside to dry.
I stamped the Shine on Whisper White cardstock with Melon Mambo Classic Ink. The shine was then punched out with the 2" Circle Punch and attached to a scallop circle punched from Mint Macaron cardstock. The "It's Your Day" is stamped with Mint Macaron Classic Ink. To cover a little "oops" with the Gel Medium, I applied Washi Tape to the bottom right of the card. The flowers are punched out from Melon Mambo cardstock using the Petite Petals Punch and Itty Bitty Punch then attached to the cardfront to cover any little "messes." The final touch was the addition of the Pearl Basics.
The gel medium is lots of fun to use and the effect with the texture is amazing. If you haven't played with Mixed Media before, give it a try!
