SunnyGirlScraps Stampin’ Tips & More:

Step-by-Step Tutorial

Start with a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ card base of Thick Whisper White card stock.

Cut a 5-1/4″ x 4″ piece of Whisper White card stock for the card front. Stamp the large stem and flower from the Field of Flower Stamp Set using Granny Apple Green and Bumblebee classic inks on the card front. Emboss using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere card front to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Layer a 3/4″ x 3″ strip of Bumblebee card stock on the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add a 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ strip of Magenta Madness card stock to card front by overlapping Bumblebee strip at an angle.

Stamp the stems on a large scrap of Whisper White card stock with Granny Apple Green classic ink. Die cut with an oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies. Adhere oval to card with Stampin’ Dimensionals overlapping the strips.

Confetti Flowers? Punch out confetti flowers from Magenta Madness card stock with the Confetti Flowers Border Punch. Use the Fine Tip Glue to adhere the confetti flowers to the oval.

Stamp the “Always” with Versamark on Basic Black card stock, sprinkle with White Embossing Powder and heat emboss. Cut out the “Always” using paper snips then adhere to the oval.

Bling it ON! Add some Artistry Blooms Sequins to the card front. Now, add a pop of pizzazz by finishing the card with the addition of Pearl Basic Jewels. The card actually features pearls adhered to each of the confetti flowers to add dimension. Some might say that the addition of the pearls to the confetti flowers is too much and “over-the-top” but I love the look.

Do you like the pearls added to the confetti flowers?

Blogging Friends! Good Morning Magnolia

Today I’m sharing the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle from the NEW 2019-2020 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog for the Blogging Friends Blog Hop! It’s an exciting time of the year when the new Annual Catalog goes live for customers to order from. I hope you enjoy today’s card along with the quick, time-lapse video I’ve created sharing the process I used to watercolor the magnolia for this card.Blogging Friends Blog Hop banner

Good Morning Magnolia

Favorite New Stampin’ Up! Product

Well, this is only ONE example of all the new products that I love! While the Good Morning Magnolia set has been in the hands of Demonstrators for a month or so, I have just finally taken the time to play with this gorgeous set. I LOVE the BIG and BOLD Magnolia with the coordinating Die. You honestly cannot go wrong with a large image such as the Magnolia featured in the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set.

In addition to the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle, I’m also excited to share the new SHIMMER White Stampin’ Emboss Powder with you. The Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder is so cool! It has a bit of a silvery, iridescence. The magnolia is also stamped on the NEW Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper which is absolutely amazing quality.

  • The card base is Thick Whisper White!
  • I stamped the large Magnolia with So Saffron Ink on the NEW Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • To watercolor the image, I’ve used the Watercolor Pencil Assortment 2 paired with an Aqua Painter.
  • In the video below, I’m using the Aqua Painter to pick up color directly from the Watercolor Pencil then coloring the image.
  • As I color the Magnolia, I occasionally go back to an area already colored to add more color as a way to intensify the colors and shading of the image.
  • The Magnolia is colored with Crushed Curry and the leaves are Garden Green while for the branch I’ve used Early Espresso.
  • Next, I stamped the “Thanks” with Versamark on Basic Black cardstock and heat emboss using the NEW Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
  • A bit of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon just adds a little extra pizzazz!
  • On the card front layer, I’ve flicked some of the Crushed Curry and Garden Green to add a little color.
  • The Magnolia is die cut using the Magnolia Memory Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Dies.
  • Adhere the Magnolia to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • I then added a few little “dots” of Wink of Stella to the card front.
  • To finish the card, I added sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment.

Watercolor Technique Video

Enjoy this Time-Lapse watercolor video showcasing the process I used to watercolor the magnolia from the Good Morning Magnolia Bundle. I am using Watercolor Pencils with an Aqua Painter direct to the watercolor paper.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Hugs from Shelli Hop

I am so excited to be sharing some fun alternative ideas to the May 2019 Hugs From Shelli Paper Pumpkin Kit. This kit is really special and was designed by Shelli Gardner. I’m absolutely in love with this gorgeous kit. I’m not usually drawn to a vintage feel but this kit is elegant with an understated vintage feel. I truly hope you enjoy! Paper Pumpkin Thing Alternative Blog Hop Graphic

Hugs from Shelli

I have a fun, shabby chic card using the May 2018 Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin Kit. The card utilizes the Stamp Set and card front to one of the notecard designs. But, I’ve completely repurposed the elements of the kit along with using other amazing Stampin’ Up! products.

Then, I have a cute and quick 3D project for you. This project features a treat bag with a cute tag. Again, I’m using more of the Amazing Stampin’ Up! products to create the treat bag. The tag utilizes another notecard front along with the stamp sets and pink thread.

Project #1 – Dear Friend Shabby Chic Card

Hugs from Shelli Shabby Chic card with Crumb Cake and Pretty Peacock

The card base is Very Vanilla cardstock with a Pretty Peacock base layer stamped with the floral stamp from the Paper Pumpkin Kit using Pretty Peacock Ink. Then, I first crumpled the Crumb Cake cardstock then dry embossed with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I distressed the edges of the Crumb Cake cardstock.

I use the Stitched Nested Labels Dies to create the front banner using the script style notecard from the Hugs from Shelli Kit. I’ve also created a frame of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies as an offset to the banner which I placed in the background. The flowers are stamped with Sahara Sand then I did a “quick” no-lines watercolor using blending pens on the very vanilla cardstock. I stamped the birds with Crumb Cake. The two birds and flowers are fussy cut.

Project #2 – Thank You Treat Bag & Tag

Treat Bag featuring a Thank You Tag with a bird using the Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin KitThis 3D Treat Bag features a tag created using the Stitched Nested Labels and another card front design from the Hugs from Shelli Paper Pumpkin Kit. I chosse the beautiful flowers for this tag.  The “Thank You” is stamped with Old Olive then each end is punched with the Triple Banner Punch. On the back, I added the Pink Thread then attached the banner to the top of the bag. Oh, and the Stitched Nested Label is just stapled to the bag. Then I added the fussy cut bird, adhesive-backed sequins and the additional sentiment. So simple yet cute.
