It’s Wednesday and you know what that means… I’m over at the Paper Craft Crew for the Weekly Card Sketch Challenge!   Come on over and check out this weeks sketch as well as the Design Team submissions.  The challenge starts today and ends on Tuesday, March 28th at 1:30 PM.

Sweet Cupcake Card

Paper Craft Crew Challenge #236

Oh, I love cupcakes especially yummy cupcakes from a specialty Cupcake Bakery! I’m personally a horrible cupcake maker.  They never turn out exactly as I hope they will and are not very pretty looking.  So, today I’ve created a yummy Sweet Cupcake Card for the Paper Craft Crew challenge.  This is where I excel.  While I’m actually a pretty good baker, cupcakes just don’t turn out to my high expectations so I’ll stick to sweet cupcakes in paper form.

SunnyGirl Card Recipe:

  • Sweet Cupcakes Card created by Pam Staples Order today by visiting www.sunnygirlscraps.com #pcc217 #allthingsthanks #thankyouThe card base is a 5″ x 5″ card base with a Pacific Point card layer dry embossed using the Festive Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
  • I’ve added a strip of the Party Animal Designer Series Paper as a layer on the Pacific Point with a piece of Emerald Envy Baker’s Twine.  The Party Animal Embellishment is tied on to the card also with a piece of the Emerald Envy Baker’s Twine.
  • A circular layer was added using the Layering Circle Framelits with a Stitched Shapes circle layered on Tangerine Tango.
  • I stamped the cupcake using the Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set then die cut with the coordinating Cupcake Cutouts Framelits. The cupcake features Emerald Envy for the base with Crushed Curry as the “lemon” frosting.
  • The Party Animal Embellishment replaces the sketch element in the upper left corner then I added a 1″ Circle punched out of Crushed Curry cardstock then a 3/4″ circle punched out of the Tangerine Tango cardstock.
  • As a finishing touch, I used the “sweet” from the Cupcake Cutouts Framelits which was die cut 3 times out of Pacific Point cardstock then glued together, stamped with Versamark then heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder to create a nice shine which helps the “sweet” really pop!

All Things Thanks Clean & Simple Card

Paper Craft Crew Challenge #235

All Things Thanks Clean and Simple Card created by Pam StaplesWhile I was in Minnesota to help my parents out after my mom’s surgery, we were greatly blessed by several neighbors bringing over meals and keeping us well fed. It truly was wonderful to see so many neighbors that cared and wanted to help us out. The meals really took a lot of stress off of my shoulders. Thank You cards are the perfect way to express gratitude and I’m definitely in the process of making Thank You cards to send to these neighbors as well as the Hospital Staff.

The Paper Craft Crew card sketch for this week paired with the All Things Thanks Stamp Set is perfect for quick, clean and simple cards. My cards today are being created for a special event as a way for me to just “love” on some wonderful friends and customers.  It is my way of saying “Thank You” for joining me.  One of my goals this year is to really ramp up my customer service by increasing the ways I show appreciation.  Over the next few weeks, I’ll be rolling out a NEW Rewards Program for when you shop with me which will include a small handmade card or gift from me each time you place an order.  There will also be opportunities to receive free Stampin’ Up! product when you place an order for a specific amount.  So, keep an eye out for the new rewards program.

SunnyGirl Stampin’ Tips & More:

All Things Thanks Clean and Simple Card created by Pam Staples

  • Card Details!  The card base is Thick Whisper White with a Whisper White card front layered on Dapper Denim cardstock.
  • Designer Series Paper Stack! I love the versatility of the Designer Series Paper Stacks and especially the 2016-2018 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack.  I was able to create two very distinct cards with one featuring a more masculine design while the other card is feminine.
  • Stitched Shapes Framelits! These framelits add amazing detail with a stitched appearance.  I’ve stamped the Sentiment then used the Stitched Shapes Framelits to cut the sentiment out then added a layer of Dapper Denim using the Layering Circle Framelits.
  • Washi Tape! Embellishments are great for adding details to a card but especially Washi Tape as it is so easy to use. On the Masculine card, I used a strip of Smoky Slate card stock then added a piece of Party Animal Washi Tape.  For the feminine card, I used two different designs of the Party Animal Washi Tape.
  • Embellish It!  The Whisper White Bakers Twine tied around the card and finished off with a button helps add detail. Then, as a final touch, I’ve added three strategically placed enamel shapes.  Look closely at how I placed them in a triangle with two dots close to each other and the third separated by the strips but still close enough to the other two that you get the feel that the three enamel shapes belong together.
  • Pin it!  The photo below showcases key products for today’s card that you can save or pin to Pinterest. If you are viewing this post by email, you’ll need to click the title of the post to access my blog and pin.  See ALL my labeled product photos in one spot on my “Stamp It Today Tips” board on Pinterest.

  • Two Cards, One Sketch! Yes, I made two cards that are similar yet different.  One card is masculine featuring diagonal stripes, Dapper Denim, Smoky Slate and Washi Tape.  The other card features a floral design with similar details.

SUOC #170 – Dragonfly Dreams

Welcome back for Things that Fly with Dragonfly Dreams as it is time for another challenge from Stampin’ Up! Only Challenges. The new challenge is lots of fun featuring a Things that Fly / Up In the Sky.  We invite you to come play along as this challenge starts today and ends on Friday, March 24th.

Dragonfly Dreams

Things that Fly with SUOC170

Dragonfly Dreams with Sale-A-Bration Inside The Lines Designer Series Paper. Card created by Pam Staples To order products to recreate these projects, visit www.sunnygirlscraps.com #dragonflydreams #papercrafts #stampinupI’ve been home for a week now and as things would have it… I was hit hard with a Sinus infection mid-week of last week only a few days in to being at home.  So, on that note… I’m keeping this blog post short and sweet.  I’m exhausted and have been struggling to even craft. I was so excited to get home, be with my family and back in the craft room only to be knocked down by this sinus crud.  My poor husband has been amazing but he is ready for everyone to be healthy.

I did manage to get a card created for the Things that Fly challenge over at SUO Challenges for SUOC170 featuring the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  I love this stamp set with the coordinating dies.  I’ve also used the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper. I’ve highlighted one flower by coloring it with the Real Red Watercolor Pencil along with the surrounding leaves colored with the Old Olive Watercolor Pencil. Then I added a Detailed Dragonfly layered with Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Vellum Cardstock. The sentiment is stamped with Real Red. Accents added are the Enamel Shapes.

Don’t forget to visit the SUO! Challenges Blog to check out the creations from the other Design Team members!

I invite you to pin any of my creations to Pinterest and to share your thoughts or questions by leaving me a comment.  I love hearing from all my readers – word of mouth is one of the greatest forms of flattery.
