What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

We collect the data shown in the comments form when you leave a comment. Your visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string are used to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string is created from your email address (also called a hash) and may be provided to Gravatar. This is how Gravatar determines if you are using their services. You may review the Gravatar privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Your Gravatar profile picture is visible to the public once comments are approved.

Media

The images you upload may include embedded information. This information may include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). You should delete image metadata before uploading your images.

Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website. To protect your privacy, a best practice is to delete your image metadata before uploading images to the internet.

Contact forms

I may capture personal data when you submit a contact form or purchase products. The information I collect is kept for a period of two years or as long as the product is still current. I maintain the information for customer service purposes.

You may also opt-in to receive my newsletter through the contact form. We utilize the information as a means to market future similar products offered either by Stampin’ Up! or SunnyGirlScraps. I do not share your information to third-parties for the purpose of marketing.

My newsletter service is Aweber. I maintain a separate Aweber form for you to sign up for my newsletter. The information I collect is for my newsletter and marketing purposes. If you signed up for the newsletter via the comments opt-in, then you should have received an email to re-opt in.

Cookies

When you leave a comment you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in cookies. The cookies are for your convenience. When you accept cookies,  you do not have to fill in your details again the next time you leave a comment. These cookies last for one year.

If you have an account and log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

As you log in, we set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display choices. The login cookies last for two days, and screen option cookies last for a year. When you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. Each time you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

We occasionally publish content from other websites. The articles on this site may also include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). You need to know that embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you. Data collected may use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content. They may track your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
