One Stamp at a Time
Oh My Pumpkins and Pie!
I struggled at first with this months theme and originally wasn’t going to do anything with “Pumpkins” other than using Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink but then, inspiration hit! I recently purchase some Liquid Frisket with plans to play with some watercolor techniques. The first project features a card using the Liquid Frisket and Watercolor and I’m in LOVE! This card was so much fun. It even incorporates Pumpkins, Fall and Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink.
Project #1 – Watercolor Pumpkins and Pie
This card embraces all I love about fall! Fall colors, going to the pumpkin patch, cool days and cozy nights. I feel like this card just screams fall and Thanksgiving. The leaf is an outline from the Leaflets Framelits then outlined with Liquid Frisket. Once the Liquid Frisket dried, I brushed water onto the the inside of the leaf then started adding colors. The colors used are Peekaboo Peach, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze. After the watercolor was dry, I then splattered the front of the card with Pumpkin Pie & Cajun Craze and dabbed with paper towel to pick up excess water.
So, the cool think about Liquid Frisket… Once you are done, you can peel it up from the paper without it damaging the paper. Definitely a really cool product to have on hand if you enjoy doing any type of watercolor techniques.
The Pumpkins are from the Spooky Fun Stamp Set and Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies. I stamped the pumpkins with Cajun Craze then used the blender pens to lightly color in the pumpkins with Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango. The sentiment is from the Acorny Thank You Stamp Set. Metallic Enamel Shapes add a nice touch of gold randomly placed around the leaf. I added the Linen Thread to add a nice, fall rustic like feel to the card.
Are you hungry yet for the flavors of fall? Would you like some Pumpkin Pie or a Pumpkin Spice Latte? (actually, I’m not a fan of either except for a Creamy Pumpkin “pie” that I make for my husband as a pudding as he prefers it without the crust).
I’m also entering this card into the TGIF Challenge (#TGIFC76). This card is perfect for their current challenge featuring Tangerine Tango, Kraft and White! The watercolor leaf perfectly fits with the Tangerine of the theme then the touch of Kraft with the use of the Linen Thread.
Project #2 – 3D Oh My Pumpkin & Pie!
So, to finish of my Pumpkin Pie theme, what better than a piece of Pumpkin Pie with the Cutie Pie Thinlits? I continue the fall theme with this adorable pie shaped box. The cardstock is Pumpkin Pie with Vintage Leaves, a little fall rustic feel with the 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon. The sentiment is from the Paisleys & Posies Stamp Set accented by a Cajun Craze banner.
To create the tag for the sentiment, I used the Tags & Labels Framelits. I actually cut out the tag but ran it through a second time trimming the tag to a smaller size with the same Framelit. As a finishing touch, I added Copper Metallic Thread.
Hmmm… Oh My Pumpkin and Pie is calling! (And, wouldn’t this be an adorable placeholder at Thanksgiving dinner?!?!)

Thank you Melissa, I was thinking the same thing but forgot to add it to the blog post. It has been added thanks to your suggestion.

Thanks Crystal. I’m in the mood for fall weather and changing foliage!
Hi Pam! Oh what a sweet card and great pie box. I love the watercolor leaf on the card, that makes it so extra special.

I’m not a fan of pumpkin flavour either, Pam – but I sure do love your projects! Gorgeous fall colours, and the Vintage Leaves set is one of my favourites. Thanks for sharing about Liquid Frisket – I’m going to have to search for it!
