I’m celebrating birthdays with Confetti Stars Border Punch and since it is Sunday, you know what that means… I’m over at the Can You Case It? Challenge Blog for the Weekly Challenge! Come on over and check out this weeks challenge as well as the Design Team submissions. The challenge starts today and ends on Friday, April 8th @ Noon PST.
Confetti Stars Border Punch
I’ve had this idea for a while of using the Confetti Stars Border Punch on a card featuring a diagonal design. When I saw the Sketch Challenge for CYCI #114 I just knew it was time to pull out the Confetti Stars Border Punch and put this card together instead of leaving it as a fleeting thought in my pretty little brain. This was a fun card to put together and I really do like the way it turned out. It isn’t really any gender specific and works great as a birthday card for just about anyone!
Confetti Stars Border Punch Birthday Celebration
So, you’ll notice that my diagonal is the opposite of the sketch… That was because I didn’t pay attention when I cut my diagonal positions! But, hey… Mistakes are always opportunities and the card works with the sketch. The first layer of the card front is Basic Black because I wanted the Confetti Stars Border Punch to really pop against the Whisper White. I used the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack for the top triangle. The colors are Mint Macaroon, Crushed Curry and Basic Black – not exactly a color combination you would normally see but I love how the Crushed Curry pops against all the other colors. Washi Tape was the perfect accent along with the White Perfect Accents. The birthday sentiment is from the Sunburst Sayings Stamp Set. I used the Stars Collection Framelits for the stars.
