Welcome to the 4th installment of the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge with SQSC4!  I can't believe it has been four weeks already…  I've really been having a blast as a member of the Design Team and I really hope that you are finding inspiration in the cards that I am creating using the Stampin' Queen's Sketch.  This week I would like to introduce you to the Button Buddies stamp set with:

Button Buddies:  Having A Snail of a Time!

Admittedly, I struggled with this weeks sketch (although I love all the cards done by the other Design Team members)!  It took me longer than usual to figure out where I was going to start even though I loved the sketch.  I think all the "busy" elements of the sketch is what really challenged me and that I needed to find some balance for myself.  I started the process by browsing through my stamps, it was the Button Buddies stamp set that jumped out at me as the perfect stamp set for this challenge.

Button Buddies

My key thinking to this card was to keep it simple following the premise of "KISS" meaning I needed to keep telling myself "Keep It Simple Sweetie!"  IF you know me, that is a hard premise to follow…

I started with a Whisper White base for the card then added the two strips of Pacific Point with the corners rounded using the corner rounder punch.  Then I layered Melon Mambo over the 2 strips after I embossed the Melon Mambo with the Perfect Polka Dot Embossing Folder to help add some simple texture.  Next I used the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch to create the background bordering the 1 3/4" circle with "Wish Big" stamped.  The "Wish Big" comes from the Word Play stamp set which is another set that I really love.

The final steps to this card was to stamp the three SUPER SUPER cute Snail's.  The snails are stamped with Old Olive classic ink then I took three Old Olive buttons and placed one on each of the snails – don't you just love the "Button Buddies!"  I then rounded the corners then attached to a layer of Old Olive Card stock to finish the look of this layer which I then attached to the card.  I had though of adding some brads elsewhere on the card but they really didn't add that much and I opted not to add that element as I felt they even detracted from the buttons on the "Button Buddies" snails.
