Fun, Bright Balloon Celebration
Card Sketch CYCI#116
It is a lovely day this Sunday and I’m really excited about this weeks card! If you haven’t guessed already… I LOVE the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set. So, I have a quick and cute story. While making the card for this weeks Challenge, my son noticed the balloons stamped on my desk top paper and he was so excite! He held up the sheet then looked at me and said “Mommy, BALLOONS! Mommy, I love balloons.” It was just so sweet and one of the few times he has acknowledged and expressed an interest in stamping. It was a very happy Mommy moment!
This card is so awesomely easy to make! When I saw the sketch I knew the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set was perfect. I started with the card front base using the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack in Daffodil Delight layered with Whisper White. The balloons are stamped using Memento Ink for the outline then stamped with Tangelo Twist Classic Ink and Cajun Craze and finished off with a Tangerine Tango Candy Dot. I punched the balloons out with one of my absolute favorite tools… the Balloon Bouquet Punch! To help with placement, I placed the balloons on the card front then stamped the balloon string with the Memento Ink and attached the balloons to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. In the bottom right corner is stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set. Stars are stamped with Memento Black as the outline and Daffodil Delight Classic Ink to finish the card.
If you haven’t noticed already… This card uses only ONE stamp set! I’ve challenged myself to use only one stamp set on a card at least once a month just to show my readers that YOU can create a beautiful card using only one stamp set. One of the features I love most about the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set is that there are numerous sentiments that a stamper can use so the Happy Birthday could easily be changed to Congratulations or other combination of words from the Balloon Celebration Stamp Set.
