Welcome to another week of the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge. This week I'm featuring the Established Elegance Valentine along with the Framelits Hearts Collection. I hope you enjoy and find inspiration from my card and the sketch. So, on that note…
Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge # 24
Established Elegance Valentine
When I first saw the Established Elegance stamp set in the 2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Catalog, I wan't overwhelmingly in love with the stamp set. But, I've seen some really cute cards and the set grew on me to the point that I had to have the set. It has a beautiful, vintage feel and when I was planning this card I just knew this was the stamp set I wanted to use.
For the background on the card, I started with the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper layered with the Riding Hood Red 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon. A key feature of the card are the three hearts created using the Big Shot and the Framelits Hearts Collection. The largest heart in Riding Hood Red is stamped with images from the Established Elegance Stamp Set. The medium sized heart is Card Stock White Vellum and the smallest heart is stamped with Riding Hood Red classic ink again using the Established Elegance stamp set.
The final touches are the three flowers created using the Boho Blossoms Punch with Riding Hood Red card stock. Using the Loving Thoughts stamp set, I stamped "Memories" on a strip of Whisper White card stock then layered it onto Riding Hood Red card stock to make the tag. I added three Jewel Rhinestones on the bottom right corner to add some balance.
Design Tips by SunnyGirlScraps:
- For the new stamper, sketches are a great way to explore and help develop your own style.
- Create a main Focal Point such as clustering elements to help the eye focus on a specific portion of your card.
- Create balance. On this card, the three flowers and the three rhinestones help balance the larger hearts.
I hope you find inspiration with this weeks sketch along with my Design Team sample. This is the sketch for SQSC 24! Thank you Sharon! I was stumped at first when I started planning my card for this sketch then I started playing with the Hearts Framelits then the card just started coming together.
