Play along at www.papercraftcrew.com #spookyfun #cardsketch #sunnygirlscraps #papercraftcrewThis weeks Paper Craft Crew card was a lot of fun to create.  I really love the Spooky Fun Stamp Set paired with the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies. The moon on this Spooky Fun Halloween Card is stamped with Tangerine Tango then watercolored in the center with Daffodil Delight.  I purposely used Tangerine Tango instead of Stazon because I wanted the outline of the moon to lightly blend with the Daffodil Delight as I was watercoloring.

The moon is cut out using the Square Layering Framelits with a Smoky Slate Scallop Square layer.  I cut out the basic gray spooky tree with the Halloween Scenes Edgelits.  To fit the tree on the square, I flipped and played with the placement until I liked where it was placed.  The tree was then glued to the square and then I trimmed the excess ends off.

Finally, I added the finishing details.  The sentiment is stamped on a banner and placed across the bottom of the layering square.  I added the Halloween Night Designer Washi Tape in the upper right corner then used the Halloween Night Baker’s Twine attached with a staple.  The Halloween Enamel Dots are the last detail that I added.

  • Flip It!

    • Did you catch that I flipped the tree?  When you use a die for cutting, don’t be afraid to flip it even it it might have marks from cutting.  The tree I cut has marks from the cutting pads but the marks look like bark and add awesome texture.  Flipping the tree also worked better with the card along with my vision.
  • Product Suites.

    • Stampin’ Up! has made it easy to create affordable and coordinated cards.  All the products that I used are part of the same product suite… Halloween Night!  The Halloween Night Designer Washi Tape adds color and texture along with balance to the key focal point of the card.  All the details work together.
