You have to agree with me! Is this adorable Cookie Cutter Scarecrow from the Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set from the NEW Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog just awesome? I had so much fun creating this scarecrow card for this weeks Can You Case It? Color Challenge! The arrival of August means the new 2016 Holiday Catalog is just around the corner. I do love the PERKS! As a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I get to order a month before the Holiday Catalog is available to the public.
Yes, it’s Sunday, so I’m over at the Can You Case It Challenge Blog for the Weekly Challenge! You are invited to check out this weeks challenge and Design Team submissions. The challenge starts today and ends on Friday, August 19 @ Noon PST.
Can You Case It?
Color Challenge CYCI#133
Where has the summer gone? I can’t believe that my son will be starting First Grade in two weeks! Summer is always fun but I’m honestly ready for the cooler months of Autumn. North Carolina summers are just too HOT!
The colors on this card with the adorable cookie cutter scarecrow remind me of cool nights. I love the muted green of the Mint Macaron paired with the Delightful Dijon. Then there is just a hint of Crumb Cake in the background and the straw of the scarecrow.
New Catalog… Thinking of Cool Nights!
I’m definitely dreaming of cool Autumn nights. I really enjoy Corn Maizes. This adorable cookie cutter scarecrow from Stampin’ Up! and the NEW Cookie Cutter Halloween Stamp Set is awesome. Stampin’ Up! hit it out of the park by pairing this with the Cookie Cutter Christmas Stamp Set that includes a matching punch.
Another great NEW stamp set is Ghoulish Grunge. I predict that Ghoulish Grunge is going to be very popular. Stampin’ Up! rocked my world with another awesome grunge style stamp set. I love how the Ghoulish Grunge Stamp Set makes it easy to add interest and texture to the background.
Sunny Girl Scraps Tips & Tricks:
BUNDLES: Remember, bundles are a great way to save money! Stampin’ Up! has paired the Cookie Cutter Christmas with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch to offer you a 10% savings. Add the Cookie Cutter Halloween to the mix for even more options!
- Designer Series Paper: Using Designer Series Paper is a great way to add detail with texture. I used the Petals & Paisleys Specialty Designer Series Paper featuring Delightful Dijon and Mint Macaron. Just cut a small strip and attach to your card front.
- Don’t have the sentiment you want? I actually didn’t want a Halloween Sentiment since I’m not yet ready for Halloween. This adorable scarecrow really needed a fall sentiment and I thought “Harvest” was perfect so I used the Labeler Alphabet to create my own sentiment for the card front.
- Think outside the box! The sentiment really needed to be attached with something other than adhesive. I opted to use the Stampin’ Up! stapler to add texture as the means of attaching the sentiment. Did you notice that the staples are not uniform? Think outside the box! I love how the staples are at different angles which seems to really enhance the overall feel of the scarecrow card.
