What comes to your mind when you think of the “Dog Days of Summer?”
I think of HOT summer days and summer crafting project ideas! From mid-July through August, the weather in North Carolina is hot and humid… the air feels like pea soup! Kids are also start realizing that they’ll be going back to school soon (and mom’s start jumping for joy).
So, welcome to the “Dog Days of Summer” with the One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop! I know I’m trying to stay cool enjoying the Air Conditioner as I stamp away. The OSAT Blog Hop is the 2nd Thursday of the month starting at 6:30 AM EST, featuring a new theme.
One Stamp At A Time
Dog Days of Summer
I’m excited to be sharing a couple of fun projects. The first is a fun camping themed card. Then I have a cute “Dog” themed Paper Cube teacher gift idea.
Project #1 – Always an Adventure Camping Card
I grew up camping! Mom and Dad would pack up the camper then we would hit the road on the family camping adventure in August. My dad loved going west. We would visit places such as Yellowstone, Glacier National Park, and the Grand Tetons.
The Always an Adventure Stamp Set is a must have for anyone that enjoys camping. This set is FUN! I also love that Stampin’ Up! offers coordinating Framelits. The mountains bring back childhood memories for me. I know I would enjoy staying cool in the higher elevations of the Rocky Mountains!
Project #2 – Bella & Friends Paper Cube Cuteness
August is when I look forward to the start of a new school year. My son is getting excited about going back to school as a first grader. I’m enjoying these last weeks before school starts.
The teacher gift is inspired by a friend. Tracie Langley is a fellow demonstrator, she provided the 3×3 Paper Cubes. Her husband made the 3×3 cubes for her as part of their marketing business, High Performance Marketing. I knew the cube would be the perfect teacher gift!
Awesome Teacher Gift Idea…
As a gift, I didn’t want to give a “plain” paper cube away. Tracie shared with me that it is easy to stamp the sides of the cube. It was very easy to stamp on the side of the cubes and I love how the cube turned out. I also decided to color Bella’s dog tag and collar. Next, I covered the cardboard with Tempting Turquoise Designer Series Paper from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack.
I still needed more… The cube required special gift packaging. I created a box using Tempting Turquoise card stock with a half circle punched out in the front. Next, a piece of Burlap Ribbon was wrapped around the box. I made a cute tag using the Bella & Friends stamp set which is tied to the Burlap Ribbon with Bermuda Bay Thick Baker’s Twine.

The camping card would look fabulous on a scrapbooking page, too! Sweet little teacher gift, too!
What great projects Pam. I love all the layers on the card.
Tracy, thank you! I’m glad you love the layers… they were an oops. I cut my first layer a tad smaller than I intended.
Your projects are so cute and makes me want to add to my wish list. The note pad cube is such a great idea!
I want to go camping!!! Love the idea with the paper cube!!! Brilliant…
