Hey… It is time for another challenge with SU-Only Challenges. The theme for Challenge #90 is Punch Parade. I love that Stampin' Up! offers some awesome punches that coordinate beautifully with our Stamp Sets. Now, I'll admit that I was a little intimidated by this challenge but not for the reasons you might think. You see… before I created my card I happened to look at our Design Team photo album for this challenge and it just happened that another team member had posted this totally AMAZING Punch Art Pirate Card! It is SO stinking cute… Yep, no way I could compete with that so I decided to stick to something with a fresh, spring theme and as I created this card I couldn't help but think about the Cherry Blossom Festival held each year in Washington DC. I hope you enjoy my "Cherry Blossom" card featuring some of the floral punches from Stampin' Up!

I really enjoyed creating this card featuring a springtime theme as I started with a Whisper White card base then added another layer of Whisper White cardstock. On the first layer, I used the script stamp from the Notable Notions Stamp Set and stamped the image with Summer Starfruit Classic Ink. I then added to the background by using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set small dot image stamped with Basic Gray Classic Ink. The sentiment features the Hello Lovely stamp from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set and stamped using Melon Mambo Classic Ink. The Hello Lovely image also coordinates with the Decorative Label Punch. The larger flowers on the card feature the Flower Shop Stamp Set which coordinates with the Pansy Punch. These flowers were stamped using Tangerine Tango Classic Ink. The smaller flowers are stamped with Melon Mambo Classic Ink and features the Petite Petals Stamp Set which coordinates with the Petite Petals Punch found in the NEW 2014 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog.
As I assembled my Cherry Blossom Festival themed card, I kept thinking about how the Cherry Blossoms look on the trees. Then I imaginged how they look as they fall off the trees and float to the ground. This image was the inspiration for my layout. I placed the larger flowers next to the sentiment with one flower tucked behind. Then I took the smaller flowers and imagined them floating down to the ground and placed them as if they were falling from the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. Each flower was lovingly placed and tucked in around the Hello Lovely sentiment. Oh, before I forget, I created a border around the Hello Lovely stamped sentiment using Tangerine Tango cardstock then I layered a small piece of doily behind the sentiment which was punched out with the Decorative Label Punch. Ok… back to the sweet Petite Petals! The Petite Petals flowers were tucked in and around the larger flowers and the sentiment to create a whimsical cluster. The final touch was adding the Pearl Jewels.
