Celebrate Today Stamp Set
Theme: All About Dots
The time has arrived for another Theme Challenge from SU! Only Challenges and we have a fun theme featuring "All About Dots." I had fun with this challenge and opted to feature NEW products which are now available through the 2015 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Brochure.
When creating this card, I knew I want it to be a fun and colorful card. I was even thinking this could be one of the cards I stick in a stack for my husband to choose from when he needs a card (often for me). The Celebrate Today Stamp Set is a fun stamp set featuring balloons along with offering coordinating Framelits which makes it easy to cut out the balloons and various accessories.
I started with my old standby of a Whisper White Card Base… on the very rare occasion I'll use a different card base other than Whisper White but in all honesty I prefer Whisper White because it gives cards a clean look, is easy to write inside without adding additional card stock inside the card for writing and I always have Whisper White on hand for my creations. OK, onward… I took a piece of Coastal Cabana which I'm using for my base layer then attached a piece of the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper featuring a colorful "dot" design.
The center focal point starts with me stamping the "strings" for the 2 balloons on Whisper White using Crumb Cake Classic Ink then attaching the Whisper White to Calypso Coral Card Stock which is then attached to the base layer with the Designer Series Paper. I stamped two balloons – one is stamped using Coastal Cabana and the other is Calypso Coral. The Calypso Coral Balloon is stamped a second time with Calypso Coral Classic Ink using the dot pattern found in the Celebrate Today Stamp Set. Both balloons were then cut out using the Balloon Framelits Dies. At the bottom of the balloons, I added a bow which is stamped with Coastal Cabana and also cut out using the Balloon Framelits Dies.
Finally, I need to finish off the card with the remaining choice of sentiment which is the "Birthday." The Coastal Cabana balloon image I used already had the "happy" so I decided to create a banner using the BIRTHDAY stamped with Calypso Coral then attached to the balloon.
