Today is an exciting day here in my world of blogging and crafting as I finalize the details of a blog refresh.  For about a month, I’ve been working with Integrant Services on spring cleaning the guts of my blog to help improve overall performance. I’ve also been working with Nicole to create a NEW, clean design for the Sunny Girl Scraps Blog.  It has now come to that point where I’m ready for the BIG reveal… the Sunny Girl Scraps Blog Refresh!

Sunny Girl Scraps Blog Refresh

My desire for the blog refresh is to make Sunny Girl Scraps easier to navigate with less clutter.  As a new visitor to Sunny Girl Scraps, you’ll probably find yourself on my landing page which will include a large “slider” featuring the most current and last 2 or 3 blog posts.  There is also a “Featured Stampin’ Up! Projects” section which will generally consist of the past 6 blog posts but I’ll also be able to highlight upcoming classes, events and more!  There is also only one side bar so all side bar content is conveniently located on the right side of the blog.

Getting to the point of change and the process of the blog refresh involved working with Brian and Nicole of Integrant Services by completing a couple of surveys that they provided which narrowed down the details of the process including ideas for design of the new logo as well as the type of layout I wanted for the website.  I also need to give a big shout out to my upline, Terri Walker, for her guidance and suggestions which ultimately led to the final logo design.  Both Brian and Nicole have been wonderful to work with and I couldn’t be more thrilled with how the process has gone so far.  I will say that I really liked how Brian created a “mock-up” of the new blog layout so I had a good idea of how it would look once we took the new design live.  Then, Brian and I went through the background workings of my wordpress.org blog especially focusing on Plugins.  Brian quickly assessed that I had numerous Plugins that were old, bogging down the speed of my blog and also made suggestions on plugins that I might want to add.

Blog Refresh… Is it done?

While you are probably seeing the new change right now or will see the new blog design at some point later today, there are still some additional changes that we are working on such as updating the drop down menus and updating the sidebar labels.  While Brian and Nicole are helping me with this blog refresh, I still have LOTS of work to do such as finalizing some NEW programs that I’ll be rolling out over the next few months such as my Project Life Online Club, Butterfly Kit & Kaboodle Club, and Butterfly Bonus Rewards! I’m also working on updating my “About Me” so it reflects the most up-to-date information about ME!  My “About Me” section will also explain the significance of my new logo.
