Watercolor Peaceful Pines
Paper Craft Crew Tic Tac Toe Challenge #175
The Paper Craft Crew is having fun with the last challenge of 2015! Tic Tac Toe challenges are lots of fun and with two weeks to play you should have PLENTY of time to come with some creative cards. This challenge is definitely fun. Check out the options…
- Create a winter themed card with a deer!
- Christmas Card
- A holiday card in your favorite colors (doesn't need to be just Christmas!!!)
- Endless possibilities… be creative!
I had so many ideas when trying to decide on which option I wanted to tackle for this Tic Tac Toe Challenge. I really planned to use the Deer but since I just did the Deer card for the Can You Case It? 100th Milestone challenge I decided to go with a different theme. My card features Watercolor, Die Cut and a Christmas Theme.
The Peaceful Pines called to me again and resulted in this Watercolor Peaceful Pines Christmas Card! For this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card, I chose to stamp a background of two pine trees using the Basic Black Archival Ink then watercoloring the trees using Old Olive Classic Ink with the Aqua Painter with a Soft Sky background then layered on Cherry Cobbler cardstock. I then colored a third pine tree and cut it out using the Perfect Pines Framelits. The layered die cut pine tree adds dimension to the card as it pops out with the use of Stampin' Dimensionals.
You'll notice I didn't use a lot of extra embellishments this week instead opting to really let the watercolor speak for itself with only a little bit of Gold Metalic Thread added behind the one pine tree. To stay in line with the Christmas Theme, I added the Cherry Cobbler die cut "Noel" from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits.
The finished top layer was then layered on top of Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper. I think the evergreens really pop off the page with the addition of the Soft Sky background created both with the watercoloring and the added Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper.
