Can You Case It
Challenge #75 – Flower Patch
One of my closest cousins decided late last year that she wanted to run Grandma's Marathon in Duluth, MN this year. I know she has done some other Marathon's but this is a "big" accomplishment. Yesterday, June 20th, she ran and completed her 1st Grandma's Marathon. It looks like it was a cool, rainy day. Everyone in the family is very proud of Holly and her determination to improve her health as well as compete in a major Marathon (this is a qualifier for the Boston Marathon). Congratulation Holly… You DESERVE to Celebrate and enjoy time relaxing at the lake in Nisswa, MN!
The inspiration for this card is in part to Celebrate my cousin Holly's accomplishment. This card is for her and I'll send it off closer to when I know she'll be getting home. The Flower Patch Stamp Set is a fun, whimsical floral style stamp set. I actually turned the sketch on it's side and used the File Tabs Edgelits to cut a tab out of the Sahara Sand Cardstock. On the tab, I stamped the Celebrate from the And Many More Stamp Set using Early Espresso Classic Ink. A piece of Cucumber Crush 1" Dotted Lace Trim was wrapped around the Sahara Sand cardstock.
Using the Flower Patch Stamp Set, I stamped each layer of the flower. The bottom layer is stamped using Pink Pirouette Classic Ink. For the next two layers of the flower I used Melon Mambo Classic ink then the center portion of the flower is stamped using Delightful Dijon. So… confession time – I really do NOT like the Delightful Dijon but for some bizarre reason I've been using it a lot lately as a small add-on detail. Dijon Delightful isn't all that bad when used sparingly. OK… to finish off the flower, I stamped two leaves using the Cucumber Crush Classic Ink. The Flower Patch flower is perfectly whimsical and fits perfect with the sketch.
