Just Believe!

Yes, YOU can create beautiful, handmade cards!  Creating a card from the heart is a rewarding and enjoyable hobby.  All it takes is a willingness to learn how to stamp.  Creating a card can actually be very simple.  You don't have to do anything elaborate with lots of layers. But, if you are a new stamper that wants to create cards with more layers but don't know where to start then I highly recommend using a sketch as a starting point.  Sketches provide you with a road map and there are many challenge blogs that provide you with samples based off the sketch.

It is time again for another Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge.

Stampin' Up?! Just Believe Stamp SetMy submission for this week's challenge pays homage to the colors Lavender & Deep Purple with the Just Believe Stamp Set as the focal point.  The base of the card starts with Concord Crush with with the next layer using the Patterns Designer Series Paper Stack 2010-2012 In Color using the Concord Crush.  The three strips layer is in the Wisteria Wonder and embossed using the Lattice Embossing Folder.  The stamp I used is from the Just Believe Stamp Set.  I used the Stampin' Write Markers to color the image then spritzed with water for a watercolor effect.  The image was then embossed using the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set which was then cut out.  Using the Pear Pizzaz 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon, I created a gathered border finished off with a bow and the sentiment attached with a Vintage Trinket.  The final elements consist of 3 small daisies attached with Glimmer Brads and butterflies.

Sunny Girl Scraps TIps:

  • Using monochromatic color combinations with a pop of a coordinating color helps create a beautiful focal point.
  • Dry Embossing using the Big Shot helps create texture along with interest.
  • When experiencing creative block, find a sketch to help get the creative juice's flowing.
  • Most important, have FUN!
