Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #88

Eggstra Spectacular Easter Card

So, let me just say…  I love this time of year as we start to see signs of spring with flowers budding, grass turning green and temperatures start to climb.  Here in North Carolina, I've finally been able to wear shorts as I just LOVE shorts weather and anything above 65 is shorts weather for me being from Minnesota and all!  My card for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #88 is a reflection of springtime with the arrival of Easter.

Card Sketch #88 Eggstra Spectacular

The card base starts with Very Vanilla Cardstock cut to a square 5×5 card layered Baked Brown Sugar Card Stock and Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper.  Along the edge of the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper, I took a sponge dauber and used Baked Brown Sugar classic ink to sponge along the edge of the Designer Series Paper for a distressed look.  Next, I took two strips of Very Vanilla cardstock with the Chevron Embossing Folder and attached them to the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper.  The Tag was created, again, using the Retro Fresh Designer Series Paper cut in a 2" strip and punched using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.  I also used the sponging technique on the Tag and the background chevron embossed Very Vanilla Cardstock to give them a distressed appearance.

On the tag, I added the stamped image of the little lamb from the Eggstra Spectacular Stamp Set.  The little lamb is stamped using Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock then layered on a piece of Baked Brown Sugar Cardstock.  Next, I added the Coastal Cabana 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim to the tag and tied a bow around the trim using the Linen Thread.

The embellishments feature stamped images from the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set stamped using Coastal Cabana, Baked Brown Sugar and Tangerine Tango classic ink then cut out using the Starburst Framelits Dies.  I used the Candy Dots to accent each of the starbursts.  The final touch was to add the arrow image from the Peachy Keen Stamp Set and cut out with the On Film Framelits Dies.

PCCCS 73-103-006-2The colors are really lots of fun and a wonderful reflection of springtime.  So, I hope you enjoy and PIN my card.  Now, don't forget to visit the Paper Craft Crew Blog and check out the design team member blogs and to help you get started with the sketch challenge, here is this weeks Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch #88.
