Oh, the weather outside is frightful so a Smitten Mitten’s handmade card is SO delightfully perfect for a PCC sketch! I’m such a mitten girl! I love mittens and had so much fun creating this handmade card. This weeks Paper Craft Crew Sketch inspired me to use the Smitten Mitten’s Stamp set with the tiny kitty mitten Framelits. I’m so sad that this stamp set is retiring the end of December. Now is the TIME to go purchase retiring products before they are gone by visiting my Stampin’ Store. Eek… Can you believe it is December already? I don’t know where the time has gone! Caleb definitely keeps me busy and so do the Stamping Classes that I offer in my home as well as at the Ugly Mug Coffee Shop in Garner, NC. This card is bittersweet for me as I mourn this stamp bundle being retired at the end of this month. You may see more coming from this set as I say farewell.

Smitten Mitten’s Traditional Colors

This handmade card is a marriage between the Be Merry Designer Series Paper and the Smitten Mitten’s Bundle. The featured colors include Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green. Then, the background layer uses Vellum embossed with little silver snowflakes. Where there are Mittens there is usually snow (or so I tell myself.)

Card Details
- Card base… Of course it is Thick Whisper White! Why would I use anything else but the best?
- The base layer is Garden Green.
- Be Merry Designer Series Paper is perfect for the background layer and sets the town for a fun, traditional Holiday Card.
- Layered over the Merry Designer Series Paper is Vellum stamped and heat embossed using Silver Stampin’ Emboss powder with the snowflakes from Tags & Trimmings Stamp Set.
- Using the sketch as my guide, I stamped the two Cherry Cobbler Smitten Mittens then die cut using the coordinating Many Mittens Framelits.
- Additional embellishments include Silver Foil swirls from the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits.
- A die cut Garden Green leaf from the Pretty Pines Thinlits is also added.
- Silver Metallic Thread is wrapped behind the mittens adds more sparkle
- I finished the card off with the addition of a Cherry Cobbler sentiment tag heat embossed with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder.
