It is time for another challenge from the SU! Only Challenge Blog.  The new theme for the next 2 weeks will be Non-Traditional Christmas Cards.  This really is a fun theme although a bit challenging.  My idea and inspiration came from a card I made for my niece that was originally a "sympathy" card.  Also, I'm working on my first video on making this card.  I was hoping to post it tonight but after reviewing then starting to edit the video, I realized it really needs to be re-done from scratch!  20 minutes of raw footage was just TOO much and even though I was deleting segments, I realized there was too much "dead" space overall.  So, I'm going back to the drawing board…  Wish me luck!

I encourage you to visit the SU! Only Challenge Blog to check out the other members and their creations and in the meantime, here is my Non-Traditional Christmas Card.

Non-Traditional Christmas Card

Non Traditional Christmas Card

The card base is Whisper White with a layer of Calypso Coral then another layer of Whisper White.  On the top layer, I used the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and stamped two images using Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay.  Then, using the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, I stamped "Ho Ho Ho" three times using the Oh, Goodie Stamp Set.

Next, I stamped the Hexagons from the Six-Sided Sampler in Bermuda Bay Ink and punched them out with the coordinating Hexagon Punch.  The flag is created using Epic Day Designer Series Paper with a Calypso Coral pattern.  I used the 1" Square Punch to create the flag.  Attached to the flag is a portion of the Tea Lace Paper Doily then I layered the Hexagons on the flag using Dimensionals.

The star was cut from the Epic Day Designer Series paper using one of the small framelits included with the Cifcle Card Thinlits Dies.  I added a small rhinestone jewel to the star and the little "bubble" from the Hung Up Cute Clips.
