A Happy Holiday to you on this months North Carolina Demo Blog Tour while burning the midnight oil getting ready for a Holiday Craft Fair! It is the last Sunday of the month and starting at 8 PM EST, the NC Demo’s Facebook Group features a new theme.
Happy Holiday Craft Fair Goodies
NC Demos Blog Tour
For my readers in the United States, I pray that you’ve had a wonderful Thanksgiving Weekend. I’ve enjoyed a quiet weekend with my husband and son. Thanksgiving meal was mostly provided by Boston Market (yes, I cheated on the Turkey, Stuffing & Sweet Potato Casserole!) I did make the Mashed Potatoes and Corn Casserole. Over the weekend, we managed to get our Christmas Tree up and also go view a local Christmas Light display. Along with family time, I’ve also been working on items for a Craft Fair that I’m doing next Saturday from 9am to 3pm at the Cleveland High School in Clayton, NC to help support the Marching Band. We would LOVE to have you visit if you live in the Clayton, NC area.
Project #1 – Bag in a Box
I’m excited about this first project that I’m sharing today. I was trying to think of a cute way to package several Ghirardelli Chocolates when I saw a video from Sam Hammond, Pootles, a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator located in the United Kingdom. These boxes are so incredibly easy and quick to make.
Just like Sam, I’m trying to use up much of my Holiday papers and this project is perfect for the Warmth & Cheer Designer Series Paper Stack. For this box, here are the specifics:
Paper – trim to 5-7/8″ x 5-7/8″
Score on the first side at 1-7/8″ and 4-5/8″
Here is Sam’s video that she posted on her YouTube page to help you with this cute, quick project. I think I listened to the video about a million times because I love listening to Sam’s accent!
The tag for my box uses the Tin of Tags Stamp Set stamped with VersaMark then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. I cut the tag with the Stitched Dies and added a Cherry Cobbler scallop circle from the Layered Circle Framelits Die. The tag is tied on with Basic Black Baker’s Twine.
Project #2 – Hershey’s Nugget Treat Bag & Tray
This project features the 2″ x 8″ Cellophane Bags filled with 5 Hershey’s Nuggets wrapped with a 1″ x 3″ piece of Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper. For a cleaner look, I also created a tray to hold the Hershey’s Nuggets. There are numerous versions on the internet and found on Pinterest. My tray starts with a piece of paper measuring 6″ x 2-1/2″ then scored 1/2″ all around. At the ends, I snipped small squares off and created a small flap which I then tucked under the tray edges to help hold the tray together. For an adhesive, I used Fast Fuse.
The Nuggets were placed in the tray then slid inside the Cellophane Bag. I tied the bag off with a piece of the 5/8″ Burlap Ribbon. A quick tag was created using the Tin of Tags Stamp Set stamped with VersaMark on Whisper White then heat embossed with Gold Embossing Powder. The tag is cut out using the Stitched Dies then a Cherry Cobbler scallop was added using the Layered Square Framelits Dies.
You’ll notice that I added a Gold Metallic Star to this tag. Confession… I accidentally touched the tag and had ink on my finger so the star is hiding an “oops!”
So enjoy!
Sunny Stampin’ & Scrappin’!

Pam, You have inspired me to make some boxes and use up MY extra DSP I have! It’s such pretty paper, it would be a shame not to use it up!
Your projects photograph so well! Very lovely.
Pretty! I like the look of the tray for the nuggets. It finishes the project nicely.
Pam, thanks for sharing such cute ideas. I love to give cute dressed up treats.
