The Registration Fee DOES NOT include lodging for the weekend at the Best Western – Sandcastle. BUT I negotiated a GREAT rate of $79.00 a NIGHT before Tax. The first nights lodging is due when you make your reservation and the remainder is due when you check into the hotel.
We are going back to the Best Western Plus – Sandcastle located directly on the Virginia Beach strip. You’ll enjoy views of the ocean as you craft. Need a break from crafting, well, go for a walk on the boardwalk or even enjoy the sandy beach. There may even be dolphins frolicking not far off in the distance. Here are the specific details:

The nightly rate is $79.00 for Single or Double occupancy + tax. ALL Rooms are NON-SMOKING! Work on your latest craft projects while enjoying the beach. All crafters are welcome. Enjoy a 6’ table as your personal crafting area! The Craft Room will be staffed around the clock or the door locked to protect your valuables. All attendees are welcome to craft as late as desired or get up early if you’re a morning person.
The Craft Room is stocked with the following items:
- Big Shot stations complete with an assortment of dies, framelits, thinlits and embossing folders.
- Lots of current and some retired stamp sets (bring your own clear blocks)
- An assortment of tools available for your use including punches, punch boards, scoring tools, trimmers, heat tools, etc…
- My scraps are your scraps – take some, leave some
- Photo Booth to help you create fun memories!
- General store with adhesives, Paper Pumpkin Kits and limited SU kits per their cash & carry policy.
- Keurig available to you in the Craft Room (bring your favorite k-cups)
- Electricity at your crafting spot
- WIFI in the Craft Room
- Breakfast Buffet served daily by the hotel, dinner around 6pm on Friday and a light lunch on Saturday served between noon & 1pm
- Light Snacks served around 3pm & 9pm on Friday & Saturday
- Handmade Party Favors
- Raffle Tickets for some Big Ticket Items!
- Friday night BINGO party!
- Access to hotel gym and pool

What do I do for three days?
Whatever you want! Stamp, scrap, craft, quilt, bible journal, worker on your planner! Enjoy visiting with and be inspired by fellow crafters. Tired? Take a nap! Going stir crazy? Walk on the beach, go swimming, or use the fitness center. Laugh, make new friends and create memories!
Can I sit with my friends?
I will do my best to accommodate all who wish to sit together.
We will do our best to accommodate standard dietary restrictions. Please be sure to include any food allergies or dietary restrictions on your registration form.
Is the hotel room included in the costs?
NO! The hotel room is $79.00 a night + TAX. After you register for the retreat, you’ll be directed to a special link where you can complete your hotel registration. The link is also available on the Craft & Relax Facebook Event Page or you can click HERE. The first nights stay is due at the time you call to register and remainder will be paid at check-in. The hotel is a NON-SMOKING hotel!
Is the event open to the public?
YES it is – it is open to EVERYONE! All crafters are welcome.
Do I have to use only Stampin’ Up! product?
No, you are welcome and encouraged to use whatever CRAFT supplies you prefer to use! Just know that I’m available to help you with all your Stampin’ Up! needs! I will have Kits, limited paper, retired product and adhesive available in compliance with the Stampin’ Up! cash & carry policy. Note, Stampin’ Up! products are compatible with any & all products on the market. Feel free to use what makes you happy!
What do I pack and bring?
A detailed suggested packing list will be provided and posted to the Facebook Group in mid-September.
What if I need a roommate or carpool buddy?
You will be added to a private Facebook group after registration where you can find a roommate or carpool buddy, and ask questions of fellow attendees and much more!
This is a vendor and solicitation free event. PLEASE!
NO promotional items (catalogs, flyers, business cards, etc) from ANY business. There is no solicitation for any business, class, product, etc while at the event – especially if you are a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. The focus of the getaway is creativity. Anyone who does solicit will be asked to leave and barred from future events.
