We have another Card Sketch with the Paper Craft Crew starting today and I'm featuring the new Zoo Babies Stamp Set in this cute, monochromatic Zoo Babies Handmade Card. Besides the Zoo Babies Stamp Set, I'm also using a lot of my new "favorites."  Keep an eye out for those favorites as I share my card and how I created it with you.

Zoo Babies Handmade Card for PCCCS 49

Square Zoo Babies Handmade Card

Zoo Babies Handmade CardMy Zoo Babies Handmade card is a square card and I started with a Whisper White base of 5" x 10" then folded it in half.  The second layer is Basic Gray which sets the stage for this cute card.  Next, I used the Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack in Neutral using the NEW color Smoky Slate – can I just say that I LOVE this neutral!  I'm in love with the new designs found in the Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stacks as they are so much fun and coordinate extremely well with so many of our stamp sets, tools and more!  The best part, I earned all the color families FREE for recruiting during a special promotion and did you know Stampin' Up! is a wonderful company and I LOVE being my own boss!

A piece of Smoky Slate Cardstock torn along one edge was layered onto the Smoky Slate Designer paper.  Next, I took a piece of our NEW Smoky Slate Chevron Ribbon and attached it to the card front followed by wrapping a piece of the Grosgrain Stitched Ribbon in Basic Gray over the Chevron Ribbon.  I love the contrast!  Did I say that I LOVE the new Chevron Ribbon…  Onwards we go!

Using the Window Frames Collection Framelits, I cut a layer piece out from the Basic Gray cardstock which I then paper-piereced in the corners to create interest and visual texture.  The Stampin' Up! Paper-Piercing Tool is another favorite item which also works for pealing off the Candy Dots or jewels from their paper backing.  To do the paper-piercing I used the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack to guide me as to where I wanted to pierce the cardstock.  Next, I stamped the background image from the Off the Grid stamp and, yes, this is another NEW favorite stamp meaning you'll probably see a LOT of it this year.  I stamped the Off the Grid image using the Smoky Slate classic ink.  Then I stamped the elephant from the Zoo Babies stamp set using the Basic Gray classic ink.  The image was then cut out using the next smallest Window Frame from the Window Frames Collection Framelits.

The finishing touches include adding two Basic Black Candy Dots to the upper right corner of the window frame loosely based off the sketch. Next, I added a small Smoky Slate button to the bottom left corner tied with a piece of Baker's Twine in Whisper White.  I then stamped the sentiment which is also from the Zoo Babies stamp set in the bottom right corner of the card.  My final touch was a last minute decision with the addition of the arrow from the Hung Up Cute Clips.
