I really had fun creating a "Stars and Stripes" themed Baby Card totally doing something different for this challenge.  When I thought of this Challenge, I just kept thinking of a cute baby card using the You're So Sweet Stamp Set.  Did you know that this stamp set coordinates with the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits?  Well, I love this thinlit but I really wanted to use this stamp set on a card.  Don't you think this baby card is adorable?  I love how the designer series paper peeks out from the cutout.

For once, I'm not using my usual card base but instead using a piece of Blushing Bride Cardstock.  The top layer consists of the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack in the Smoky Slate layered with the Whisper White.  On the Whisper White layer, I stamped the star image with Blushing Bride Classic Ink from the You're So Sweet Stamp Set then used the star from Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to cut out the center of the star.

Another fun technique that I used was to actually add a "splatter" to the Whisper White card front.  Yes, I could have used the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set but I wanted something a little "less."  For the splatter, I took the Aqua Painter and mixed a small amount of water with Mint Macaron Reinker then I tapped the side of the Aqua Pen for the splatter.

The finishing elements include the addition of two small banners in the upper right corner of the card with the floral banner being just the flip side of the diagonal striped Smoky Slate Designer Series Paper Stack.  On the top banner, I stamped the "cute baby" with Blushing Bride ink with a stamp from the Banner Banter Stamp Set.  Next, I added the small star and rhinestones for a little added bling.

I really feel this is a great card for welcoming and saying "hello" to a new baby girl!  I'm certain any new set of parents would adore this card.
