Welcome to another installment of the Stampin' Queen's Sketch Challenge! This week, I'm featuring the Stampin' Up! stamp set:
Come to Bethlehem
Today's sketch is a wonderful sketch, fairly simple and not too many layers! It is an awesome sketch for a class, stamp-a-stack or just creating a quick card on the fly. I love sketches that really challenge your creativity and this sketch does that while being relatively simple. Remember, sketches are a great way to get your juices flowing especially if you are having a creative block. Here is today's sketch:
So, now that you've seen this weeks Stampin' Queen's Sketch, I'm certain you are going to love my interpretation. I used one of my favorite colors and Christmas themed stamp sets. The base color is Pool Party and the stamp set is Come to Bethlehem. I had to add sparkle to this card using the Silver Glimmer Paper found in the 2011 Holiday Mini Catalog.
Sunny Girl Scraps Helpful Hints:
- I keep a separate blade for when I cut Glimmer Paper as it can dull the blade.
- The 3/8" Ruffled Ribbon adds a nice whimsical, yet elegant tough layered next to the Silver Glimmer Paper.
- The image of the Three Wise Men was stamped with Craft White Ink then heat embossed using White Embossing Powder. This really helps the image "pop" along with showing a crisp image against the Pool Party color.
- I layered the Modern Label so it would pop against the Pool Party background.
- The Lace Ribbon Border punch was used to create a light, and soft border at the top of the card.
- For the final touches of sparkle, use the Rhinestone Jewels.
