Today, I'm sharing a belated Valentine card that I made for my Grandma.  My Grandma is 85 1/2 years old living at Martin Luther Manor in Bloomington, MN!  She is known as the "social butterfly" and has been the president of the resident council for at least the past 5 years.  Everyone loves her and totally dotes on her.  I grew up with my Grandma living with my family from the time that I was about 6 years old.  Grandpa had passed away and because my Grandma has Multiple Sclerosis it was just easier to have her living with us.  Amazingly, she has done extremely well with her MS and been blessed with a slow progression.  This winter has been more difficult however.  We were honestly hoping that my parents would be able to bring her down from MN to NC for a visit in May but it now looks like that will probably not happen.  I have a very special relationship with my Grandma and she is probably one of THE biggest reasons why I occasionally miss living in MN.  This past summer Caleb and I went to MN for 3 weeks and enjoyed a wonderful visit.  My hope and plan is that I can take Caleb to MN again this summer for about 3 weeks to visit family but especially so he can see his Great Grandma again.

Here is the Valentine Card that I made for her using the Lots of Love Letterpress Plates which I inked up using the Brayer rolled in a Whisper White Craft Stampin' Pad then applied to the letterpress plate. To obtain the impression and "clean" image that I wanted, I found that I actually preferred using the Standard Texturz Impressions Pad with the Texturz Silicone Rubber pad placed on the multipurpose platform set to "Tab 1" along with a piece of card stock which in this case was Basic Black card stock.  I then used the Square Lattice to add texture to the Real Red Card Stock base of the card.  The flower was made using the Fun Flower Big Shot die using the Newsprint Designer Series Paper with the Red Glimmer Paper with a Basic Black Designer Buttons   Finally, I took some Basic Black Satin ribbon which I gathered using a technique called "Ruching."
