SU! Only Challenge # 27 – Ribbon & Bows Theme

Ribbon Rosettes

It is time again for another challenge from the SU! Only Challenge Blog!  Our theme for the next 2 weeks will be Ribbon & Bows, so I hope you stop on over and play along!  To see all the other wonderful submissions by the Design Team, go to our challenge blog at www.suochallenges.com!  I really had a lot of fun making my card featuring Ribbon Rosettes that I learned how to make at the Stampin' Up! Charlotte Regional.  It took me more than just a few tries to get these down but once I did I loved how they turned out and I definitely foresee more of these in the future.  The Ribbon Rosettes are absolutely beautiful adding so much dimension to the card along with making it extra special, because they do take a little extra time and tender loving care.

I hope you really enjoy the Ribbon Rosettes card!   The card itself needed to be soft and reflective of the Ribbon Rosettes.  What I love about this card is that it could be easily made into a card for any of the following events:

Wedding Card

Baby Shower

Anniversary

Sympathy

Get Well

I'm certain you could use this card for other occasions but those are the ones that really stood out for me with this card and the colors can easily be changed to help set the tone for different occasions.

Ribbon Rosettes

The base of the Ribbon Rosettes card starts with Pink Pirouette Card Stock layered with Whisper White Card Stock which I embossed using the Finial Press Embossing Folder run through the Big Shot.  Next, I used Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon wrapped around the Whisper White Card Stock.  The Ribbon Rosettes are created using approx. 18 inches of Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon clustered together on the left side of the Pretty In Pink Satin Ribbon.

Next, I used the Elements of Style Stamp Set to create the stamped image which I then dry embossed using the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Folders Set to "highlight" the stamped image which is layered with Pink Pirouette Card Stock.  The fourth Ribbon Rosettes I created using the Organza Ribbon which I used as the "anchor" for the tags stamped with images from the Tiny Tags Stamp Set then punched out using the Jewelry Tag punch.  My final touch was to add the Pearl Jewels to the center of each of the Ribbon Rosettes!

Again, I cannot express how much I love this card and making these Ribbon Rosettes.  They were not easy to make and the Ribbon Rosettes definitely took me more than just a few tries to make.  Honestly, it took me a few tries to find a decent online tutorial and I hope to make a tutorial for these in the near future.
