Christmas Packaging Ideas and Tags
I’m so excited to be sharing some fun projects. I have a Christmas Bag with a Tag, Gift Card Holder and a couple of easy tags to share with you today. I’ve tried to create projects that you can recreate fairly quickly to help you during the busyness of the season. Enjoy, and know that you CAN create cute, fun and quick packaging as well as tags for your Christmas Gifts.
Project #1 – Christmas Bag
I just love this bag with the tag! The tag is created starting with Garden Green circle background cut out using the Circle Thinlits. Layered over the circle is a tag I created using the Under the Tree Specialty Designer Series Paper with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch. For accents, I added the Tea Lace Doily with a thin banner. Next, I stamped my evergreen tree using the Festival of Trees Stamp Set and the coordinating Tree Punch. The final touch was to add the sentiment as a banner. On the back of the tag, I added the “To: & From:” so the tag can easily be addressed by the giver to the recipient. I also spritzed the bag with an Early Espresso Spritzer that I mixed using Rubbing Alcohol and the Early Espresso Classic Reinker mixed in the Stampin’ Up! Spritzer.
In the photo to the right, you can see additional details such as the Gold Basic Metal Button tied with a piece of Linen Thread. Another detail is the Linen Thread that is layered between the Garden Green Circle Base and the Tag portion. Finally, I tied a bow on the handle of the bag using the Cheer Cobbler 1″ Sheer Linen Ribbon and attached the finished tag to the bag with a Clothespin.
Project #2 – Under The Tree Gift Card Holder
This Christmas Card Holder is SO fun to make but it is the most time intensive project that I’m sharing. The envelope is created using the Envelope Punch Board sized for Gift Cards and you cut off the top of the folder then punch using the Envelope Punch Board to create the tabbed indent. I then wrapped the envelope with Linen Thread and and added the Gold Basic Metal Buttons. The Gift Card Envelope is then attached to the outer paper strip in the center between the two score marks.. It is cut to a width of 2 1/2″ by 10″ then score #1 is at 3 3/4 and score #2 is at 7 3/4 then fold at the score.
I then created a Belly Band to hold the Gift Card Holder together. The Belly Band measures 2 1/4″ W x 8 1/2″ L the the 1st score mark is at 2 1/2″ and score #2 is at 5 1/4″ for the belly band. At this point you can add the accents that you want. I did add some small scallops using the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border. Attached to the Belly Band is a Christmas Tree created using the Festival Of Trees Stamp set and coordinating Tree Punch. You can see in the picture on the right how the Belly Band hods the Gift Card Holder together.
Project #3 – Clean & Simple Cardinal Tag
Who doesn’t LOVE a quick, simple Christmas Tag that looks awesome! Well, check out this tag… I used the Scalloped Tag Topper to create the tag then I stamped the little Cardinal from the Festival of Trees Stamp Set with the “To/From” and finished off with the Ribbon, Button tied with Baker’s Twine around the Ribbon and the Star from the Basics Hodgepodge Clips. Super easy – PERFECT for Christmas Gifts.
Project #4 – Merry Everything Clean & Simple Tag
Well, we have ONE quick, simple Christmas Tag so why not add a SECOND easy Christmas Tag! Again, Who doesn’t LOVE a quick, simple Christmas Tag that looks awesome! The best part about this tag is that I used the Merry Everything Stamp Set with the Coordinating Note Tag Punch. I stamped the image twice – once with Real Red and the second with Garden Green then hand cut the “Everything” and attached it to the Real Red Tag. Stamped the “To/From” image and punched that out. Punched a hole with the 1/8″ Handheld Punch, added ribbon – Yep… That easy!
I invite you to pin any of my creations to Pinterest and to share your thoughts or questions by leaving me a comment. I love hearing from all my readers!
