Welcome to this weeks Design Team card that I created for the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch challenge #56.  I love how this Happy Halloween Card turned out.  I normally don't do a lot of Halloween Cards but this is a fun card using Traditional Halloween colors.  Click here to visit the Paper Craft Crew Card Sketch blog and to view the other cards created by the design team.

Paper Craft Crew

Card Sketch #56 – Happy Halloween

We have a great card sketch this week at the Paper Craft Crew.  I started my card out by actually turning the sketch on its side!  While trying to decide on which stamp I wanted to use I realized I was looking at stamps that would work best with the sketch turned.  The card is actually fairly simple and clean but stepped up by adding the designer series paper and an extra tag.

The card starts with a base of Whisper White layered with Pumpkin Pie.  The Designer Series Paper layered on the Pumpkin Pie is Basic Black using the Polka Dot and Chevron patterns from the Neutrals color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack.  I then used the Pumpkin Pie Chevron Ribbon.  The stamped  "spooky" tree image is stamped using Basic Black Classic Ink on Whisper White then cut out using the Ovals Framelit and layered on top of a piece of Pumpkin Pie Card Stock cut out using the Ovals Framelit then I used the Occasions Paper Piercing Pack to create a paper pierced accent. I attached the ovals to the card front using dimensionals.

As part of the design, the sketch shows one flag but I actually created two smaller flags.  The first flag is Basic Black set against the black and white polka dot designer series paper.  Then I layered a Pumpkin Pie flag over the black flag.  For a sentiment, I used the "Halloween Hello" from the Halloween Hello Stamp Set found in the NEW 2013 Holiday Catalog.  The "Halloween Hello" was punched out using the 1" Circle Punch then layered on a Basic Black 1 1/4" scallop circle punched out using the 1 1/4" Scallop Circle Punch.
