Paper Craft Crew
Theme Challenge #171
Give Thanks
This past weekend I had a blast attending the first ever Stampin' Up! OnStage Local event in Baltimore, MD. Actually, these events were held all over the United States, Canada and Australia in conjunction with the OnStage Live event in Brussels, Belgium. It was a wonderful day on Saturday as we got to play with and see all the wonderful new products that will be available in early January. I'm really in love with all the great products.
The OnStage event was more than I expected and the Prize Patrol was amazing. In this picture, I'm holidng the Stamp Set I received as a prize patrol winner. I came home with 3 awesome stamp sets and some Designer Series Paper along with some great class ideas. My friend Tracie and I arrived on Friday night then met up with two other Stampin' Up! demonstrators for dinner. We ate at the Guy Fiere's Kitchen located in the Horseshoe Casino. Oh yeah… the food was AMAZING! I also discovered that I tower over my friends by a foot. Yes, I am tall!
At the Baltimore OnStage Local event, there were approximately 500 to 600 Stampin' Up! Demonstrators in attendance. I was able to exchange some swaps and plan to share those over the next couple of weeks. Tracie and I loved the little OnStage signs and each had to get a photo with the sign then there was the photo booth! We almost didn't go but then decided in mid-October that we should go, plan to have fun and connect with our friends. The event went from 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM, so it was a day filled with fun. There was a video of Sara (Interim CEO) from the opening session of the OnStage Live event in Brussels along with a message from the Rich (SU!'s President). Rich did a hilarious stamping demonstration. After the video, we received the 2016 Stampin' Up! Occasions catalog – Oh yeah… it is amazing! Then there were stamping demonstrations by local demonstrators followed by attendees doing Make and Takes.
I am very excited about the 2016 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog! Oh, here is one more photo of me using the Big Shot for one of the Make & Take samples that we made. I was cutting out some pretty flowers. Saturday evening, I was also able to meet up with my cousin Cameron and his wife Sarah for dinner. It was wonderful seeing them.
But… it isn't time yet for the Spring Catalog so today I'm giving thanks for the Holiday Catalog and sharing with you a "Give Thanks" card featuring the Thankful Forest Friends Stamp Set for our Give Thanks Theme Challenge.
Lately I've been on a Clean and Simple kick. I feel this card somewhat sticks to the Clean and Simple style. I used a piece of the Into the Woods Designer Series Paper for the card front. I stamped the "Give Thanks" phrase using the Stampin' Markers to color the stamp then huffed before I stamped the image on Whisper White. I cut the image with the Oval Collection Framelits.
On the card front, I layered Early Espresso cardstock with another sheet of Into the Woods Designer Series Paper. Attached the Give Thanks sentiment then added to Vintage Leaves stamped with Tangelo Twist and Old Olive classic ink. Behind the leaves, I added gold thread. The finishing touch features a Gold Metalic button tied with 1/8" Gold Ribbon.
