Swan Lake Wedding Card

DIY Jar Of Love Wedding Favor Idea

I have two great “Happily Ever After” projects for you today. The first is a wedding card featuring the Swan Lake Stamp Set and the second is a Wedding Favor idea using the Jar Of Love Stamp Set with Everyday Jars Framelits. Hopefully, you are inspired by today’s projects.

Project #1 – Swan Lake Wedding Card

This is a gorgeous tone-on-tone Wedding Card and I truly wish you could see it in person! To make the card, I used the Masking Technique. I stamped and heat embossed the first swan with Whisper White Stampin’ Emboss Powder then I masked the stamped swan, shifted the stamp up and just to the left and stamped the swan again repeating the heat embossing. 

I toyed with several different ideas for a sentiment but ultimately settled on using the Celebrate You Thinlits from the Sale-A-Bration catalog. The white-on-white look of the card just really appealed to me and I didn’t want to disrupt the feel with stamping any other color. I opted to finish the card front by adding some Glitter & Clear Epoxy Shapes. The inside is also stamped with the wedding sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set.

Project #2 – Jar of Love Wedding Favor Idea

My second project features a 3D treat holder that I’ve been wanting to make for a while. I was actually first saw these cute treats in a Facebook post from Sandy Fuglestad Carlson well over a year ago. This little 3D treat holder will hold three Hershey Nuggets although I’m certain there are other treats or items that could be made to work with this treat holder. My favorite feature is the Mason Jar cutout!

It took me about 5 tries to get this thing right. First time, I stamped the jar upside down on the wrong side, then I forgot to cut out the mason jar opening and on my third try my phone rang with a friend on the other line… Let’s just say it isn’t a good idea multi-tasking while trying to make a new “to you” 3D project. But, finally, it came together.

The colors used on the 3D Treat Holder are my actual wedding colors. I would have to say that my wedding was one of those “Happily Ever After” moments that I had in my life. My marriage may not be perfect but I love my man and he is my “Happily Ever After.” 

Treat Holder How To…

To create the 3D Treat Holder, I cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock to 3-1/2″ x 5 1/2″ then scored in from the long side of each edge at 2 1/2.” Next, I stamped the Mason Jar with Night of Navy Classic Ink and used the Everyday Jars Framelits. The banner is stamped with Powder Pink using the Birthday Banners Stamp Set. I used the “Thank You” from the Swan Lake Stamp Set and stamped with Night of Navy. The flowers are all stamped with Powder Pink Classic Ink using the Stamparatus. I added just a little greenery which is Lemon Lime Twist. Behind the banner and flowers, I added silver metallic thread and the silver mini sequins. The 3D Treat Holder is finished off with the Lemon Lime Twist Ombre Ribbon threaded through two holes I punched using the 1/8″ Handheld Punch.

Oh, almost forgot to mention, I did make a small tray to fit inside that holds the three Hershey Nuggets that are wrapped in Designer Series Paper. The tray measures 2-1/2″ x 4″ and scored 1/2″ around each edge.
