Stampin' Up! has a fairly new program called the "Recruit Crew."  This past week I was invited to participate in the current session that just started on February 1st making it the third time I've participated in the program.  For the first Act, they asked us to write our "My Why" statement.  Although I had written out "My Why" previous times it wasn't refined and I wasn't 100% happy with the wording.  This time I really wanted to refine my "My Why" statement along with creating a Shadow Box display.

This is the result of my revised "My Why" statement along with the completed 12 x 12 shadow box layout.  I absolutely love how it turned out along with incorporating colors that I love with ribbon, buttons, flowers and butterflies.

The 12×12 base card stock color is Poppy Parade with a second layer of Peach Parfait.  The designer series paper that I used on the layout is from the Sunny Garden series.  My "My Why" statement was printed on vellum paper which is layered on top of Pear Pizzazz card stock layered on top of Blushing Bride card stock with the right edge of each layer torn.  Additional embellishments include using the Chantilly Crochet Trim.  The letters were made using my Big Shot along with the Alphabet Simple and Serif Essentials Alphabet dies.  The flowers are created using the new Fun Flowers Bigz L Die from the 2001 Occasions Mini Catalog.  The butterflies were created using the Beautiful Wings Embosslits Dies.

So, what is my "My Why" statement?  It is my personal "Statement of the Heart" and this is what I wrote:

Upon the foundation of my Christian Faith, I am committed to growing my Stampin' Up! Business, Sunny Girl Scraps, by recruiting and actively seeking to build my client base!  Why?  Because it is a reflection of me and how much I love my family; I love being a Stay-At-Home-Mom with the freedom to focus on my health and care for my family along with being my own boss which allows me to set my own hours!  Through my business I have the freedom to express my creative passion for paper crafts while having the opportunity to develop long-term, meaningful relationships which gives me the satisfaction of teaching and "Sharing What I Love!"
