Tonight I decided to play along with the card sketch from My Favorite Things. I don't actually own any stamps from My Favorite Things but I have been eyeing some of the items to use with my Erin Condrin planner. My card actually features the Guy Greetings Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!
My Favorite Things
Wednesday Sketch Challenge #214
Guy Greetings
I opted to keep my card simple since I was making a masculine card. This card is actually a late birthday card for my "baby" brother. Based on the sketch, I thought the "muscle" man from the Guy Greetings was perfect. I used the Smoky Slate Blendabilities to color in the pants and shoes but opted to keep the remainder of the stamped image uncolored – part of my plan to keep it simple! The background is Lost Lagoon and I used my little craft sewing machine to sew a border along the edge. The 1/2 circle was cut out using the Circle Collection Framelits. On the Whisper White 1/2 Circle, I stamped the "World's Greatest" Brother from the Guy Greetings Stamp Set… Actually, I can't believe I managed to create a card using only ONE stamp set. The final accent was adding the smoky slate candy dots.
There you have it… I managed to make a masculine, clean and simple card while using the card sketch from My Favorite Things. So, what do you think? I hope you like it and are inspired to create a clean and simple masculine card yourself… The guys in our lives also enjoy getting handmade cards and being reminded that they are loved as well as appreciated! Oh, and for those that are wondering, our family groundhog – my brother – DID NOT SEE HIS SHADOW! So winter should be over soon especially for those of you living in Northern Indiana / Southern Michigan region. Although, I would LOVE to have some snow down here south of Raleigh, NC!

Cute simple card. I like your interpretation of the sketch.
Hi Pam. Great colors you used on this card. I think I just might have to make a fast card. Fun and easy sketch. Your brother is going to love this one!
Pretty cool how you turned the sketch on its side!
