2013 Artisan Entry Blog Hop – Day 4
Today I’m featuring the second card of the five cards I created for the 2013 Artisan Design Team contest. This card is a fun, cheerful card utilizing bright colors.
The card base is Melon Mambo cardstock layered with Whisper White cardstock. On the Whisper White layer, I did a relief image of one of the doilies. To create the relief, I placed the doily on the Whisper White cardstock and spritzed the layer with Melon Mambo.
A favorite ribbon technique of mine is to “ruche” or gather ribbon on a card. I love the look and the Daffodil Delight 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon is some of my favorite because it is so easy to work with and is perfect for this technique.
The tags were created using the Hearts a Flutter Framelits. The Daffodil Delight image was stamped using the Everything Eleanor stamp set which is another favorite of mine then cut out using the Apothecary Accents Framelits. The framelit in this set that “matches” this one stamp isn’t actually identical but it does work and I love to use the framelit for a quick and dirty way of creating the shape that I want. Finally, I attached the sentiment stamped from the Best of Birthday’s stamp set and topped off with a button tied with a bow using Whisper White Baker’s Twine.
On the inside of the card, I place a layer of Whisper White cardstock and featured the “wrapped gift” from the Best of Birthday’s stamp set and the sentiment is from the Create a Cupcake stamp set. This was a simple, yet great way to dress up a special card. I love the extra little surprise when you open the card and see the surprise gift inside.
I invite you to pin any of my creations to Pinterest and to share your thoughts or questions by leaving me a comment. I love hearing from all my readers – word of mouth is one of the greatest forms of flattery.
Thank you so much for stopping by and checking out my project for Day 4 and don’t forget to come back for the next 6 days to see each project entry created for the Stampin’ Up! 2013 Artisan Design Team contest. Tomorrow I feature a third card with a masculine theme. To view the projects created by Tina Munzke’s click on the “next” button or if you wish to view Anna Black’s projects click on the “back” button. If for some reason the link is broken, a list of ALL the participants is at the end of my blog post.
